Abia State University sacks lecturer over alleged sex scandals.

Michael Ukaegbu, a prominent lecturer at Abia State University, Uturu, has been fired over a sex-for-grades controversy.

The ABSU council-in-session ratified the dismal of Ukaegbu, a former Acting Head of the Department of Mass Communication, in a communique issued after the university’s Governing Council held its 148th regular and resumed meetings on Thursday, December 16th and 20th, 2021, under the chairmanship of the Pro-Chancellor, Adolphus Wabara.

The Council also validated the dismissal of another, Mr Leonard Chukwuma, for admission fraud and racketeering, according to the statement signed by the university Registrar, Acho Elendu.

ABSU management and security have been tracking the lecturer, according to a top management staff member of the university.

According to the source, a disciplinary committee was formed subsequently, and its report was forwarded to the Council with an appreciative recommendation, which the Council confirmed.
