Governor Willie Obiano has been praised by Igwe Oranu Chidume of Omor Kingdom in the Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra, as the Anambra International cargo/passenger airport began flight operations on Tuesday.
The traditional ruler told journalists in Ayamelum, Anambra, that the airport will benefit the state’s and the Southeast region’s economic development.
Following the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority’s clearance of the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Air Peace stated it would commence scheduled flights into Anambra on Tuesday.
The traditional ruler stated that the new airport has elicited excitement and gladness among the people of Anambra.
Obiano, he said, is a serial achiever because of the significant landmark projects he has completed in the state.
Over the airport, there is a sense of exhilaration and enthusiasm. People will be able to travel from the state to Lagos and Abuja, boosting the state’s economic viability.
“To top it all off, Gov. Obiano left the people of Anambra a resourceful individual in Prof. Charles Soludo, who will serve as the next executive governor and his successor.”
The traditional king described it as “the finest gift he has given the people.”
Soludo, he said, is a conservative, clever, resourceful, and international personality who will lead Anambra’s economy to eldorado.
He recommended the governor-elect to lead an administration made up of professionals who are ready to get to work on measures that will change the state’s economic viability into a wealth-generating machine.
The state’s government has also received the traditional ruler’s unqualified support.
