Mu’azu Sambo, the newly appointed Minister of State for Works and Housing, said on Wednesday that President Muhammadu Buhari (retd) has chosen the right path for the country’s infrastructure development.
When he took office on Wednesday, he was greeted by the Permanent Secretary, Babangida Hussaini, and other ministry staff members.
Nigerians who underestimated Buhari’s ability, according to Sambo, will only realize his significance after his administration is through.
“Mr. President is a blessing to this country. I keep saying that the sceptics will not realise this until his excellency is gone. But some of us who know that socio-economic development is tied to massive infrastructure development know that President Muhammadu Buhari has chosen the right course,” he said.
Infrastructure development, he said, was critical to any country’s socioeconomic development. He cited China and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates as examples of countries with competitive advantages as a result of infrastructure development.
He stated that he would be satisfied if he could assist the president in “leaving some legacies behind in infrastructure development across the country” during his time in the ministry.
He emphasized his willingness to collaborate with his senior colleague, Babatunde Fashola (SAN), whom he regarded as a man of great intellect, competence, and development passion.
