FRSC – 8 citizens dies in Bauchi road accident.

According to Yusuf Abdullahi, Sector Commander of the Federal Traffic Safety Corps (FRSC) in Bauchi, eight people died in a road accident in Bauchi on Saturday.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Bauchi on Sunday, Abdullahi verified the occurrence.

According to him, the accident occurred at 9.30 p.m. in Goltukurwa Village along Dass-Bauchi Road, involving an Opel Vectra car with plate number AA 954 GYD and a Tipper Mercedes Benz with plate number NIN 279 SA.

The accident was caused by overloading, speeding, and a head-on collision, according to the Sector Commander, who stated it took the Corps around seven minutes to get on the scene and clear the site.

Two guys, six females, and a male infant were among the nine people killed in the crash, according to him.

Abdullahi, on the other hand, revealed that all eight passengers in the Opel Vectra Car that collided with the tipper died, with the exception of the tipper’s driver, Abubakar Mohammed, who was unharmed.

The FRSC chief stated that his staff had cleared the obstructions at the crash site, and that the deceased’s bodies had also been transported to the General Hospital in Dass.

“This is the December period and we have always been sensitising motorists in the state about the dangers associated with speeding and overloading.

“I want to use this opportunity to plead with motorists to always be conscious of all traffic rules and regulations as well as weather conditions before embarking on their journeys.

“They should also remember that only the living souls, not the dead, would live to celebrate the Christmas and new year festivities,” he stated.
