Future Is Bright For Hammola FC -Club President

says despite challenges faced by grassroot football club owners in Nigeria, the future is bright for his Osogbo based Nationwide League One (NLO) team.

Odeyemi an enterprising young business man, digital currency and investment consultant, whose Hammola FC ended the NLO Pre-season invitational tourney, Evolution Cup that was held in Ikenne; Ogun State with five (5) points after recording a 4-1 shocking defeat to rivals, Olansile; two draws against SGF Altetics and Ilaji FC and a win against Olukismet respectively, says they’re good to go.

The NLO Division One season officially kickoffs on Wednesday with the curtain raiser game between Smart City and Gbagada FC at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

“Running a team has been a challenge but one has to make do with his limited resources, as well as keeping a sizeable team,” he Odeyemi said when asked about the challenge private club owners encounter.

“It will interest you to know that Hammola FC is less than two years it was founded, and I want to give credit to everyone that has contributed positively to the development of the team.

“The future of the team is bright as we have outlined some developmental and scouting programmes for the team. We have players who have got the potentials and make a career playing outside the shores of Nigeria.”

Reacting to his team’s performance at the Evolution Cup, “Kudos to the organizers of the invitational tourney that was held last month. It was an eye opener for the team as we used the event to prepare and access each an every player we have.

“Regardless the results, my team, didn’t disappoint as they should maturity in subsequent matches after the shocking 4-1 defeat to Olansile FC on MatchDay 1.

“The game against Ilaji FC was our toughest as the winner could have played in the final, and not our rivals Olansile FC. Olansile claimed the bragging rights of the Osogbo Derby courtesy our goalie who had a bad day in goal.

“After the Evolution Cup, we have used the weeks to intensify the play of the team, so am 100 percent sure that Hammola FC is ready for the new challenge ahead.”

Hammola FC who are in Group C1, will begin it’s campaign in the NLO Division One season with an away game to Pacesetters FC of Ibadan at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba on Thursday.
