Just in: Russian Police reports 5 dead, others wounded in Moscow accident.

A bus accident south of Moscow in the early hours of Sunday killed five people and injured 21 others, according to Russian police.

The accident happened around 5:45 a.m. local time (0245 GMT) in the Ryazan region, according to Russia’s Federal Road Traffic Inspection Agency.

“As a result of the accident five people died. 21 were injured,” the agency said on Telegram, adding that two of the injured were under-age.

It said the injuries were of “various severity.”

According to the agency, the bus may have collided with a structure near a railroad bridge.

According to the service, the accident occurred on a highway near the village of Voslebovo, around 270 kilometers (170 miles) south of Moscow.

According to police, there were a total of 49 persons onboard.

According to police, a criminal complaint has been filed for infringement of traffic laws.
