Gov. Bello Of Zamfara State Presents N160 Billion Budget For 2022 For Approval

Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle has presented a N160 billion budget for 2022 to the State House of Assembly for approval.

Matawalle stated during Tuesday’s budget presentation in Gusau that the sum was 36% more than the amended 2021 budget of N117 billion.

He stated that the budget consisted of a recurrent expenditure of N63 billion and a capital expenditure of N97 billion.

Matawalle stated that the budget was aimed at resolving the state’s socioeconomic difficulties.

He cited a number of challenges, including insecurity, poverty, unemployment, and a lack of infrastructure.

Matawalle stated that the budget was prepared on the basis of projected recurrent revenue of N80 billion and capital expenditure of N80 billion.

The governor highlighted several projects that would be completed in 2022, including the construction of the Gusau-Juri-Dogon Kade Road, as well as the rehabilitation of existing roads connecting Kotorkoshi and Mada, as well as Gusau and Dansadau.

“Others include the reconstruction and completion of Shinkafi Referral Hospital and the construction of Maradun General Hospital,” he added.

Matawalle stated that N47 billion, or 48.84 percent of capital expenditure, has been set aside for economic empowerment investments in agriculture, public finance, and fiscal management.

The governor commended Speaker Alhaji Nasiru Magariya for providing effective leadership in the house and commended lawmakers for assisting his administration in addressing the state’s challenges.
