Following the alleged rape of a six-year-old girl and the impregnation of a 12-year-old girl by a 50-year-old instructor, Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has ordered the closure of two Islamiyah schools.
The six-year-old child was raped at Madrasatul Ulumul Deeniya wa Tahfizul Qur’an in Rigasa, Igabi Local Government Area of the state, while the 12-year-old girl was allegedly impregnated by the instructor at Tsohon Masallacin Juma’a in Kachia, Kachia Local Government.

The six-year-old girl was allegedly violated within the school premises in the Rigasa district of the state, according to the KSSQA’s Overseer, and the “school leadership covered it up and claimed ignorance of the occurrence.”
The survivor’s grandmother went to the school authority to protest, but was allegedly pummeled by Islamiyah pupils and teachers, according to the information before the Ministry of Education.
In light of this, El-Rufai ordered the Islamiyah to be shut down indefinitely until the inquiry is completed and the perpetrator is apprehended, he said.
“The individuals responsible for the violence against the grandmother, especially the headmaster, will also be prosecuted.
“This is in line with the state government’s responsibility in protecting the vulnerable population in the state,” he said.
