The Lagos State Government has provided financial aid to parents who have had several children born in the state.
Mr Segun Dawodu, the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, stated this in a statement on Monday.
This was mentioned by Dawodu during a function in Alausa, Ikeja, to offer cash assistance to needy.
He said, “The Ministry of Youth and Social Development has given financial assistance to these parents who were delivered of multiple children in the state. The gesture was to support the parents in line with the traditions of the present administration to cushion the financial burden of raising the children.
“I would also like to advise the parents to also take advantage of the Health Insurance Scheme introduced by the state government, which has been put in place for the benefit of everyone, to reduce the burden of paying hospital bills for their family.”
Mr Chima Image, speaking on behalf of the parents, praised Governor Babajide Sanwo-administration Olu’s for providing financial assistance to the families, saying that the gesture will help to reduce the expense of caring for the babies.
