Lagos State To Parade Gender-Based Culprits

According to the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, offenders of gender-based violence will now be publicly exposed.

This was revealed in a government statement, which indicated that the decision was reached during the 16-day youth mobilization against gender-based violence.

The event, themed ‘Orange the World, End Gender-Based Violence Against Women and Girls Now!’ was held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Alausa, Lagos.

“The participants were urged to participate as change agents in reestablishing cultural norms and practices that contribute to the escalation of gender-based violence in society.

“From now on, perpetrators of all forms of Gender-Based Violence will be publicly exhibited as a means of containing this societal menace,” the statement said.
