Lobi Stars 2-1 Shooting Stars: Hosts Fight Back From A Goal Down To Win

Shooting Stars missed the chance to pick their first maximum points in the Nigeria Professional Football League as they threw away a first half lead in one of the Matchday Three fixtures against Lobi Stars.

Mohammed Akilu’s low strike after latching on a defensive error put them ahead after 41 minutes of the encounter played at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi.

Upon resumption, Lobi Stars came in rejuvenated. Coach Eddy Dombraye rejigged his side 8 minutes in to the second half as he pulled out Joshua Akhabue and Onuwa Chukwuka and introduce Nassiru Momoh and Ganda Samuel.

The game got more exciting, though Lobi Stars were one goal down but all hope rises as Adams Olamilekan tormented the Shooting Stars defence till his efforts were rewarded when he converted Gabriel Wassa’s 63rd minute timely cross for the equalizer.

Olamilekan was on song again when he took a 72″ solo amidst a fleet of Shooting Stars defenders and ended with a cross that was precisely converted by Ifeanyi Ogba for the second goal for Lobi Stars and the eventual winner.
