Nigerian Civil Defense In Akwa Ibom State Assures Preservation Of Key National And State Facilities

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps’ Akwa Ibom State Command has reaffirmed its commitment to the preservation of key national and state facilities.

Abidemi Majekodunmi, the state commandant, made the commitment immediately after the command’s headquarters were relocated to No 8, off Clement Isong Street, Federal Housing Estate, Uyo Akwa, Akwa Ibom state.

According to a statement released on Saturday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Umana Ukeme, the commandant guaranteed the state government and people of Akwa Ibom state of enhanced performance from personnel motivated to contribute more to the country’s economic and national security.

“Permit me to reiterate our commitment to adequately secure the government’s important national assets, such as oil pipelines and installations, and power cables.

“Effective regulation and repositioning of private guard companies will be sought forcefully, since they contribute significantly to the state’s security infrastructure.”

While expressing gratitude to the state government for its support, the commandant committed to work effectively with sister agencies to combat all types of crime and to ensure security and safety for investments and the good people of Akwa Ibom State.
