No New Death Case from COVID-19, NCDC Reports

On Saturday, Nigeria did not record a single COVID-19 death. The country’s pandemic death toll remains at 2,980.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control reported on Sunday that the country registered 54 new illnesses on Saturday in seven states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Saturday’s 54 new infections represent a drop of 143 from Friday’s 197 cases.

Lagos State (25), Oyo State (11), the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) (6), Kwara (3), Rivers (3), Bauchi (2), Delta (2), Kano State (1), and Ogun State (1) reported new illnesses (1).

States of Ekiti, Gombe, Ondo, Osun, Plateau, and Sokoto reported no new infections.

Nationally, the total number of infections presently stands at 214,567.

207,427 cases have been treated and discharged from hospitals out of the 214,567 total national infections.

Additionally, the NCDC claimed that since the epidemic began, 3.6 million blood samples had been screened.
