President of FMSports9 Football Agency,
Femi Victor Bamisaye has craved the League Management Company(LMC) for a better organisation of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), saying the league should be the bedrock of our National teams.
Bamisaye an astute football business executive and Licensed Intermediary with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), is resident in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The FMSports9 Football Agency boss who played the beautiful round leather game at a non-league level is goal-driven, as his forays into the football business world started in 2012 when he worked with MSCSports South Africa and LME Football Agency Germany.
Reacting after the Super Eagles crashed out from the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon losing by a lone goal to Tunisia in the Round of 16.
“Those years, the quality of our domestic league used to be top-notch, as the crux of our national team used to be home-based players.
” Remember when Clemens Westerhof took over our male soccer national team and led to the 1990 Nations Cup in Algiers, Algeria.
“The Dutch had difficulties securing the release of some of our foreign-based players at the time, he then had to settle for the home-based lads and we had over 90% of the squad being home-based with the likes of Wasiu Ipaye, Moses Kpakor, Ademola Adesina, Ben Iroha and Daniel Amokachi who were all home-based at the time playing a significant role at that Nations Cup and we could compete favourably, going as far as the final of that edition, losing to host Algeria in the final.
“Even in the 2013 AFCON, late Stephen Keshi encouraged the participation of our local lads with 6 of them playing a part and 2 of them, Sunday Mba and Godfrey Oboabona became a central part of that team.
“All the players you mentioned were the product of a strong league system. Until we start to pay emphasis on our league. Our league should be the bedrock of our National team.
” I strongly believe in the league and I believe your league is as strong as your National team.
“The league will produce quality players and our indigenous coaches also need to start encouraging young players,” said Bamisaye.
FMSports9 Football Agency at the moment has about eight players under its management. The list includes; Thabo Rakhale, David Mapigano, Ojo Olaniyi Fasanmi, Zama Dlamini and Joseph Orafu.
Recall that former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles striker now a Licensed Intermediary, Terry Envoh was formerly under the management of FMSports9 Football Agency.
