Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife, has remained silent about his queen, prophetess Naomi Silekunola’s ‘divorce’ pronouncement.
Several attempts by few journalists to contact the Palace through official and credible sources have proven fruitless.
Moses Olasari, the Palace’s spokesperson, told journalists that he has yet to obtain authority from the monarch to speak to the media about the situation. Correspondents also sought out to Elusakin Oluwasogofunmi, the former Private Secretary to the Palace, who declined to comment on the matter.
Many sources previously reported that Silekunola had declared her separation from the Ooni of Ife on her Instagram account. Her three-year relationship with the Ooni has been a “battle,” she wrote.
“I did my best to endure and make it work; many times, I smiled through the struggle, but I have finally realised that I had just one assignment, my son and when God is done. He is done,” she said.
As of press time, the monarch had not responded to Silekunola’s proclamation.
