All party executives in Anambra State have had their terms extended by the Peoples Democratic Party’s National Working Committee.
Kola Ologbondiyan, the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, released a statement on Monday titled, “PDP Extends Tenure of Anambra Ward, LGA, and State Caretaker Committees.”
“In Anambra state, the PDP has prolonged the tenure of caretaker committees in wards, local governments, and state chapters,” according to the statement.
According to this, the National Working Committee’s judgment is due to the need to preserve accurate organization in all party organs at all levels throughout the state.
“The tenure of the caretaker committees has been extended for a period not exceeding 30 days in accordance with the requirements of the PDP constitution 2017 (as amended) to give stakeholders adequate time for broader talks on the party’s Anambra state chapter.”
The party urged all state leaders, key stakeholders, and citizens to remain unified and work together in the public good.
In other news, the NWC upheld the decision of its Kebbi State chapter to expel some of its members who had broken the rules.
This was said in a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, and captioned “PDP Affirms Expulsion of Erring Members In Kebbi Chapter.”
“The National Working Committee of the PDP has affirmed the expulsion of some of its members in Kebbi state by the party’s Kebbi state chapter,” the statement added.
Those who have been ousted include Garba Besse, Ibrahim Manzo, Muhd R.K., Musa Manzo, Umar Kamba, Abdulmalik Milton, Haruna Shayau, Isiyaku Daudu, Saleh Gambo, Bello Gulmare, and Junaidu Wasagu.
Others include Muhd Afan, Abubakar Kurunkudu, Hajiya Yalli, and Haruna Isa.
“Their expulsion is as a result of the decision of the state chapter and approval by the NWC in accordance with the provision of the PDP Constitution,” the official documents added (2017 as amended).
“The PDP asks all members in Kebbi state to remain calm, united, and focused, and not to allow agents of destabilization to disrupt our party’s collective mission to rescue the state and the country from the APC’s misrule.”
