The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN has honored Brain-Behind Phreestyle Sport, Shogo Shodunnke with a special recognition award for his immense contribution to the development of sports especially from the grassroots.
Mr Shodunnke who conceptualized the yearly AMAPRO Soccer Championship was among the dignitaries decorated with distinguished honors at the 2021 Awards organized by the Kwara State Chapter of the Association on Friday, 10th of December, 2021.
At the colorful event held at the Banquet Hall of Kwara Hotels in Ilorin, Chairman of SWAN, Kwara State, Mallam Jimoh Bashir said Mr Shodunnke was honored for his support to the development of humanity through sports.
Mallam Jimoh who commended him for his unique sporting initiatives that has been useful in harnessing youths in Kwara State and its environs said the recognition was to spur him to do more and to motivate others young entrepreneurs to delve into sports business.
A Certified Sports Manager, Shodunnke thanked the organizers of the award who he described as his primary constituency for recognizing his little contributions to the sector.
Shodunnke however promised not to relax in his quests to fish out exceptional talents a platform to sprout through sports.
Other important personalities that were recognized with the SWAN award include The Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, Kwara State Deputy Governor, Elder Kayode Alabi; Ace Photojournalist, Abdul Momoh; Kwara United FC Midfielder, Jide Fatokun among others.
