President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed several National Commissioners and Resident Electoral Commissioners to replace the outgoing National Commissioners and Resident Electoral Commissioners.
This is noted in Buhari’s letter, which Senate President Ahmad Lawan read aloud in session on Tuesday.
Niger State’s Malam Mohammed Haruna has been nominated to serve as the North Central – National Commissioner.
Among those in attendance were Mrs May Agbamuche Mbu, Delta State’s National Commissioner, and Okeagu Kenneth Nnamdi, Abia State’s South East National Commissioner.
Maj. Gen. A.B. Alkali (retd.) – National Commissioner for Adamawa State, North East; Prof. Rada H. Gumus – National Commissioner for Bayelsa State, South South; Mr. Sam Olumeku – National Commissioner for Ondo State, South West; and Olaniyi Olaleye Ijalaye – National Commissioner for Ondo State, South West (Resident Electoral Commissioner.)
Buhari also appointed commissioners from the National Population Commission.
The individuals in question are Mr. Benedict Opong, Mrs Gloria Izofor, Barr. Mrs Patricia O. Iyayan Kuchi, Dr. Bala Haliru, and Dr. Iyatayo Oyetunbi.
