Shehu Sani, a former senator from Kaduna Central, has chastised Primate Elijah Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church for his 2021 Africa Cup of Nations bid against Nigeria.
The Super Eagles, according to Ayodele, will not win the AFCON, which begins on January 9, 2022 in Cameroon.
Sani claimed in a post sent from his verified Twitter account on Monday that Ayodele simply prophesied that Nigeria would not win, but did not specify who would win.
He said, “My Brother Primate Ayodele prophesied that Super Eagles will not win AFCON but refused to prophesy which country will win.”
According to a trusted source, Ayodele, who is famous for his annual predictions, predicted that the men’s football team will not win the tournament.
He also mentioned that his prediction of Gernot Rohr’s dismissal as coach of the Super Eagles came true.
“Before the removal of the Super Eagles coach (Gernot Rohr), I said it since July and now that they are going for the Nations Cup, Nigeria cannot win,” he said.
“They cannot lift the cup, they will only try their best but they can’t succeed because they will be eased out technically.”
Ayodele also stated that the Super Eagles would qualify for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022, although he did not specify how far they would advance.
