Ufuoma Deniran, A Chieftain of All Progressives Congress rejects 25kg bag of rice Christmas gift from Ovie Omo-Agege.

Ufuoma Deniran, a leader of the All Progressives Congress in Delta State’s Ethiope East Local Government Area, has reportedly rejected a 25kg bag of rice as a Christmas gift from the Senate’s Deputy President, Ovie Omo-Agege, citing the aftermath of the party congresses in Delta State as a factor in his decision.

“You give and accept gifts from loved ones and not from those who don’t want things to be done in the right way. I have long sent this signal”, Deniran reportedly said in a statement made available to journalists in Warri on Wednesday.

Journalists has learned that the bag of grains given to Deniran’s apartment by the Ethiope East LGA Secretary of the Sobotie-led APC Exco, Blessing Etaghene, while he (Deniran) was away in Benin, was returned to Ejiro Etaghene’s office by the angry party chieftain.

Chuks Erhire, the Liaison Officer of Senator Ovie Omo-Constituency Agege’s Office, responded quickly, saying that Chief Deniran had the right to accept or reject the Christmas present.

Erhire informed reporters that several people on the ground were eager to receive the Deputy Senate President’s yuletide present with excitement and thanks.

“It is not compulsory that he should accept it. If he doesn’t want it he should bring it. We have people who desperately need it”, Erhire said.
