NLO Chief Gives Olanlege Credit On Grassroot Football Development In Ekiti

Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Nigeria Nationwide League One, Sola Ogunnowo poured encomiums on Ekiti State Football Association Chairman, Bayo Olanlege for his progressive leadership style towards the development of grassroots football in the state.

Ogunnowo stated this last weekend at the finals of the Bet9ja Ekiti Football League. He affirmed that he is impressed with the way the Board of the Ekiti FA has channelled its energy on grassroots development.

“I think amongst the 36 states in Nigeria, you can only count three or four that are doing this and here is Ekiti taking the lead, kudos to the FA Board and Chairman.

“I’m happy this is happening at the grassroots which is expected and that is why I am here to witness this because I have been following the matches from day one. I am happy because this is purely what the NFF is preaching.”

The astute football administrator further counselled the Bayo Olanlege-led FA Executive Board to build on the solid foundation laid already about getting more sponsors to partner with the association or government partnership to have a better organisation.

“They can only build on what is on the ground now because what is expected has already been done, the only thing they can do to make the difference is to get more sponsors to partner with the State FA or get more government involvement so that we could have a better organisation but then as it is now, we can give Ekiti 90 per cent because it is better off to what we have seen in other states”
